Electronic Commerce

Anyone based in the UK operating a commercial web site, whether simply to promote services or to provide electronic transaction facilities, is now required under the Electronic Commerce Regulations 2002 to provide on the web site basic information to web site users. This is in addition to any requirements of the Companies Act and Business Names Act. This information must include among other things details of any professional bodies with which the business or its key directors are registered, their professional titles, the country where granted and the professional codes of conduct which apply to them. For assistance with the legal requirements and risks of e-commerce, contact law firm ShawnCoulson International, fcoulson@shawncoulson.com.
